Have you ever wondered why you are here on Earth? Have you ever asked yourself, “What is my purpose in life?” Our life on Earth is short and fleeting. If our life is anyway going to end one day, then what are we living for? What is the purpose of life? Is there any real meaning to life? Yes, there is a real purpose and meaning to our lives. But without knowing God who created us, we will never be able to find true meaning and purpose. Knowing God and Enjoying Him is the ultimate purpose for which humans exist. Find your purpose and meaning, right now.

God created us for His glory

god created and blessed us

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) God created the universe and everything in it for His glory. God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.(Genesis 1:27) The creation of mankind was special in God’s eyes. God blessed them, and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. (Genesis 1:28) God’s purpose for mankind is to glorify Him in everything. Though God created man in His own image, He granted him free will. But man misused his free will and disobeyed God. Through the disobedience of the very first humans, sin entered the world.

Sin separated us from God

sin separated us from god

The world became totally corrupted and man’s thoughts and actions were consistently evil. There was not a single person in all the earth who had not sinned. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). Sin separated man from God. As the sins of man kept increasing, the gulf of separation between God and man became wider. Man couldn’t reconcile himself with God on his own because of his corrupted nature. Everlasting punishment in hell is what man deserves for the sins committed against the righteous and Holy God. The restoration of mankind from sin required the death of the Holy God as a substitutionary sacrifice.

Jesus Christ paid for our sins

Jesus Christ, the Only begotten Son of God came to this world in human form to deliver us from the bondage of sin. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) In order to bridge the gap of separation between us and God, Jesus became the mediator. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5) Just as it had been written about Him in the Scriptures, Jesus suffered and died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He paid the price for our sins on the cross and gave us the hope of eternity through His resurrection.

Receiving the gift of salvation

receiving jesus as our saviour

Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for us to escape everlasting condemnation in hell and receive everlasting life in heaven. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) The assurance of Salvation alone can give true purpose and meaning to our lives. Salvation is a gift of God which you can receive through faith. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8) In order to receive the gift of salvation, you need to admit that you are a sinner, repent and believe in Him. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Are you willing to repent and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
